Fitbit Charge 3 features

The Charge 3 is a fitness tracker made for athletes and health-conscious individuals. It’s 1.76 ounces, so it shouldn’t make your wrist feel too heavy. The band fits wrists from 5.5 to 7.1 inches for the small band and up to 8.7 inches for the large band.

Materials

Fitbit Charge 3This fitness tracker also has a variety of style options. The standard Charge 3 has a simple rubber black band designed to withstand sweat from exercise. It comes in black or grey-blue. There is also a special edition that comes with a lavender woven band for people who have issues with the silicone bands.

If you have trouble reading smaller displays, then this is a good option for you, it has a large crisp rectangular display. The front is a simple touch screen that allows you to swipe through different information.

Modes

Daily tracking

The Charge 3 has an array of biometrics it keeps track of. It has your basic pedometer to track your steps and distance traveled throughout the day. It tracks elevational changes and tells you the equivalent number of stairs you have climbed that day as well. This model has an improved 24/7 heart rate monitor that can measure your resting heart rate, telling you whether you are at that perfect heart rate for cardio during exercise. Also, the heart rate monitor gives you a more accurate reading of calories burned.

Sleep

The heart rate monitor also allows this fitness tracker to measure sleep. When your heart rate dips into sleeping levels, and the tracker doesn’t register movement, it will start to track that you are sleeping. It can measure the level of quality sleep you get by measuring how much you toss and turn throughout the night.

Exercise

It has 15 different exercise tracking modes that change the way it reads motion based on if you are swimming, running, or hiking. The Charge 3 is the perfect model fitness tracker for swimmers. They have improved the waterproofing, so it is rated for up to 50 meters. This makes it safe for anyone who wants to track their heart rate while swimming for exercise. I wouldn’t recommend this watch to any frequent divers, though.

Menstrual Tracking

Fitbit introduced a menstruation tracker on their app with an update for their female users to track their health. This feature allows you to track your period and predicts when your next one should arrive. It also attempts to predict when you have a fertile window and estimate when your ovulation day will occur. This can help people who are trying to have a baby and need to wait for certain conditions to be safe.

Battery

This model Fitbit has a great battery life. You can keep it on for up to 7 days without charging, and it only takes 2 hours to recharge from a dead battery. With the fast rate, it charges you can charge it while in the shower and never worry about it dying. The charge cable is proprietary, and a replacement will have to come from Fitbit.

Price and Warranty

This model Fitbit can usually be found for sale online for around $120. It comes with a limited manufacturer’s warranty that covers hardware defects.

FAQs

Can Fitbit Charge Three answer calls?

While you can’t use the Charge 3 to take a call since it doesn’t have a built-in microphone, it does have the ability to answer or reject calls from the watch. This is handy if you are out for a run using headphones, and you get a call. Instead of stopping to take your phone out, you can tap your Fitbit and talk through the headset.

Is It Worth upgrading to Fitbit Charge 3?

If you already have an older model, you may be wondering if it’s worth the money to upgrade. The biggest differences between the two are the improved waterproofing and the improved heart rate monitor that also monitors your SpO2 levels to gauge stress. The waterproofing on other models only covered light water, such as sweating and hand washing. This newer model is rated for 50 meters, making it great for swimmers.

Does Fitbit Charge 3 have WIFI?

The Fitbit Charge 3 does not have wifi built-in. It does all of its connectivity through Bluetooth connections.

Does Fitbit Charge 3 track sleep?

This model does track sleep by monitoring heart rate and movement. It has the ability to record when you fall asleep, how long you slept for, and the level of restless sleep you had. This allows you to see trends in your sleep cycle and make healthier choices.

What does the lightning bolt mean on Fitbit Charge 3?

The Charge 3 also tracks the number of minutes you are active for the day so you can know when you are being sedentary and get moving again. This is indicated by a lightning bolt symbol with the number of minutes beside it.
